What should I bring?

Everything you will need is provided. This includes all materials and tools, and handouts for educational purposes. You may bring an apron if you wish.

What materials will we be working with?

We work with a wide selection of art materials that are all provided. These include acrylic paints, watercolours, coloured inks, mixed media, collage, pastels, charcoal, a variety of brushes, drawing tools and much more.

What will we learn about?

During my courses, each term there is a variety of projects: landscape, portraiture, and still life. We also touch briefly on the history of art at least twice a term for the intermediate level.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive around 10 minutes before we are due to start. There is free on-site parking at all venues. 

Will I be informed before the course starts what projects we are working on?

Yes, you will be sent a welcome email around two weeks before the course starts from your tutor. This gives you details about what to expect and how the course is structured. You will also receive a schedule of study with a list of materials used and dates of each project. You will also receive a list of materials that we use in class over the course, with links for easy ordering if you want to continue working on anything outside the course. 

Are the courses in each venue repeated?

No, every term the courses are unique so that student’s studies can continue and they can explore a variety of art styles and techniques. 

How much guidance do I get from my tutor?

As much or as little as you want. The courses are very thorough, with lots of explanations, demos and one-to-one tuition throughout. Your tutor wants to bring out the best in your creative skills in an encouraging environment, with lots of positive feedback. 

How much time do we spend a week on the 10 week courses?

Three hours a week. 

Are there refreshments?

Yes, there is coffee, tea, water and biscuits.

PAyment policy

This payment policy only relates to courses and workshops purchased through the carolinecrawfordart.co.uk website. Any courses or workshops purchased through other venue websites will be subject to the payment policy relevant to the specific venue.

Students booking for themselves or others will pay the full payment before courses or workshops commence. This will be paid through the applicable websites, including Caroline’s website for The Cornerstone courses. Students will receive a receipt for this payment once it is booked and paid. Their details will be passed to the tutor who will update them with regular emails about the course.

Students can also sign up for workshop days, updates and offers.

Can I reserve places before payment?

Unfortunately not, it is a first come first served policy.


Can I get a refund if I can’t attend some of the course?

Unfortunately not, the course would be paid in full before the start date and once paid no refunds can be given, or alternative course dates. Your tutor will, however, do their best to keep you up-to-date with any project details.


What if I change my mind about booking?

You can be given a refund up to 28 days before the course starts.
